The story so far.

Jayne drove on to the country music scene with her hit ‘Chick Ute’ which struck a chord with country music fans and especially the ute fraternity. ‘Chick Ute’ was followed by her debut album ‘Sudden Change in Weather’ rated as ‘a superb debut album’ in Capital News Magazine. The album, debuted at # 6 on the Australian Artist Country Charts,
# 9 on the Air Oz Indie Charts

The popularity of ‘Chick Ute’ spread from the Northern Territory to Europe as people heard Jayne, a refreshingly new country sound. In Australia the video clip chartered for 16 weeks on the Country Music Channel Top 30 Chart. In Europe the single reached # 2 in Norway, # 4 in Italy, # 5 in the Netherlands, #5 in Denmark and #12 on the European Country Music Association Top 100.Jayne Denham
Born into a musical family meant being dragged along to musicals, concerts and singing at the local church. She was often singing with her Mother, Grandfather, Brother and Sister. Her father has an extensive country music collection that he never stopped playing so Jayne grew up listening to the greats in Australian Country Music.

Jayne's talent saw her on TV singing backing for Tina Arena at the ARIA Awards and backing vocals for various artists throughout Europe, New Zealand and the USA.

Jayne's solo career took off two years ago with her debut album 'Sudden change in Weather'. It has seen her perform at country music festivals all over Australia including Tamworth and Main Stage at the Gympie Muster. Jayne’s energetic on stage performance marks her as a true entertainer.

Jayne DenhamHer debut album included songs written & co-written by unknowns until now, including Telstra Road to Tamworth 2010 winner: Best songwriter: Luke Webb, who, as a teenager auditioned for Jayne's band 'Sonika' in 2003. Luke using a borrowed guitar was hired on the spot as lead guitarist. Other writers include Matt Wakeling and his wife Adele. Jayne's debut album was produced by Golden Guitar winner John Kane and Mark Walmsley.

Her second single ‘Cousin Jude’ continued Jayne’s success and resulted in her receiving the 2008 Australian Independent Country Music Awards Rising Star Female award.

‘Country Girl with a Rock and Roll Heart’, her third single, was ‘Pick of the Week’ on the Country Music Channel and immediately charted at #18 and went to #10. It was listed in the HOT 3FM Top Hits of the Year 2008.

Jayne came to the attention of renowned Australian country music producer Garth Porter via a tip from Australian country music PR consultant Chris O'Hearn. On hearing her debut album Garth sensed something special about Jayne’s appeal as an Australian country music artist and offered to produce her latest album.

The songs on the new album ‘Shake This Town’ are a collaboration between Garth Porter, Colin Buchanan and Jayne plus Jayne and her songwriting friends who co-wrote a number of songs on ‘Sudden Change in Weather’.

I have just been announced as one of the artists for 'CMC ROCKS THE HUNTER' with headliners Alan Jackson and Miranda Lambert. A huge honour!

The brand new single 'Feral Kev and General Leeroy' has hit the airwaves!! woo hoo! I have been busy doing lots of radio interviews so thanks to all those who are giving it a spin.

The filming of the video clip was an absolute crazy fun time. The real guys who Garth and I based the song on are the ones in the clip. They are true Aussie characters who just love there Utes and love to be the centre of attention and make people laugh. (They are way more true to the lyrics than we ever expected.)
The video is done and will be at CMC and You tube in the next few weeks.
Thanks to all the Ute crowd who came along for the filming.

But for now check out behind the scene's on You Tube.

Cheers
JD
