Sandra Humphries... more than worth it …

SandraHumphries2

As a solo artist, few can bring that true country feel to a song quite like South Australian singer-songwriter Sandra Humphries.

Once she opens her mouth on stage, Sandra's country roots are more than evident in her faultless delivery - you know she's felt that emotion and survived it.

It's little wonder her debut disc, Every Road, produced by Bill Chambers, earnt accolades including Artist/Album of the Year at the Tasmanian and New Zealand Independent Awards; and Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2004 TIARAs (Tamworth Independent Artists' Recognition Awards).

Love on the Side, a duet with Bill Chambers, won Sandra the Vocal Collaboration TIARA in 2005. Sandra chose to record her second album, Take The Pain Away, with Bill once again in the producer's role.

Some 400 people turned out for the album's launch in Mt Gambier, where Sandra was joined by good friend Trev Warner and the album's producer, Bill Chambers, to introduce the songs.
Biggest Fool Around was the first radio release and was a Top 20 hit on the Australian country charts. It also added a third TIARA to Sandra's mantelpiece - for female vocal in 2007.
Recording her third album Sandra chose a different path fulfilling every country singer's dream and making the record in Nashville, Tennessee.

Sandra was invited to Nashville to be part of the Tomkins Guitar Showcase concerts and through connections with expat South Australian, Travis List, who's now living and working in the States, came the recording session at Sidekick Studios.

In a manner similar to her honky tonk heroes of days gone by, the recording session went ahead quickly and efficiently - in a manner that left Sandra's head spinning.

In just four hours and 30 minutes these amazing session players had put down each track in just one take.

"I'm Worth It" is Sandra's stunning new release engineered by Mark Thornton and produced by John Thornton. With the new album under her belt, Sandra is set to take on all comers.

As expected...the first single "I'm worth it" shot into the top ten of the Australian country charts, as well as the CMC film clip joining the top 50!

With several more radio singles and film clips due for release this year, 2009 will be a big year for Sandra...
